Congratulations to all our teams in the MNZ Preliminary Finals yesterday. It appears the spirit of the Dirty Reds is alive and well in our MNZ Rugby Teams.

U15's: A huge effort by the boys all season wasn't enough against Forest at Forest to see them into the Grand Final next week. Their brave efforts finish a season where they have overcome a spate of injuries yet have won many games including some recent cliffhangers just to make the finals.  Congratulations to the boys, John Masters and BJ from all at DDJRUC!

U10D's Gold: The U10D's Gold team enoyed a wonderful season to be minor premiers thus making it to the Semi's and the preliminary final.  Unfortunately and despite some great rugby and showing tremendous spirit, they met a Wahroonga too good on the day. Under 10's is a very difficult time for the boys given the strict application of rules and more structured rugby game played.  Congratulations to the boys and Anthony Johnson, Phil Flannery for helping the boys reach their potential.

U10C's Black: Comgratulations to the mighty Under 10 Blacks team who won their Preliminary Final against a galant Dee Why team on Sunday to advance next week to the Grand Final. The team has enjoyed a great season showing tremendous improvement each week benefitting from the structured and well drilled coaching with which they were led. Good luck in the Grand Final and lets hope many Dirty Red Rugby supporters can make it to Narrabeen for a great day.

In the tradition of Rugby Long Lunches this event certainly did not dissappoint raising $9,000 for equipment to enhance the Juniors rugby experience at Drummoyne Districts. Keep this event as a certianty for the 2009 Diary!!         Special thanks to Matt Williams and all the speakers, Laing+Simmons for sponsoring the event and all donations of fantastic auction items and raffle/door prizes   It was great to see so many Seniors players and Golden Oldies turn up to share their experiences at Drummoyne Districts over the years.  Finally, no event cna be a success without the weeks of dedicated planning and hard work by Damian Costigan & Stephen Flannery and their gang.... Wonderful Effort guys and well worth it!
