Roger Ramjet Award

This was instigated at the start of the 1984 season by lower grade player "Jesse James"

It was reserved in those days for the lowest grade team at Red Rugby.

The idea was the winner be chosen for some deed which is worth remembering, or something the winner may rather be forgetting !

For example, "Jesse" himself was an early recipient for jumping in the Parramatta river in the middle of winter to retrieve a football.

The RR award also serves another unexpected benefit. When reminiscing over old teams sheets, with past and present team mates, reading the award jogs the memory....

"That's right, that's the game at Mosman when that Aussie Rules guy pinched the ball !"

Incidentally Jesse now resides in Adelaide and his eldest son Brock James was the Australian Schoolboys five-eighth in 199 and in the Aust U19 squad in 2000, playing Colts for Sydney Uni...a player to keep in mind. His ability is certainly not inherited !
