We knew this would be a tough day at the office – and we did our best, but were frustrated into our first lost of the season.
Balmain have all but doubled their player depth throughout all their senior grades since we trialed against them in the pre-season – particularly in their tight five – and are clearly the team to beat this season.

It was great to see hooker, John Tato, back in first grade and already back scoring tries. A special mention to Benn Sykes who was all but out on his feet after a full game in the front row in second grade. He did a valiant job covering off the bench.

Despite carrying an injury flyhalf Luke Giles never stopped trying either, but clearly – with a 51-7 scoreline – not a lot went to plan. We look forward to returning home this week and cementing our top 2 spot against Brothers.
