After a tough loss against Mosman the previous week, the mission against Waverly was simple; to bounce straight back. The boys knew that to do this they would have to show great intensity from the outset and leaders needed to step up across the park.
Drummoyne had arguably their most intensive start to a match this season, starving Waverly of possession and dominating the close quarter battle.
This visibly frustrated Waverly as Drummoyne built towards a 10‐nil lead.
The game progressed in a physical manner with Drummoyne’s forwards really taking it to Waverly at every opportunity.
Despite winning the physical exchanges, Drummoyne failed to capitalise on their possession as much as they would have liked, often failing to identify space out wide. In a game with lots of passion and with distractions a plenty, the men in Red did a stellar job of staying focused to claim a convincing win, and a bonus point in the last play of the game.
Colts would like to thank all supporters who made the trip to Dover Heights to support the them. A special thanks to Robbie Glen who offered a hand and many words of encouragement and support during a tough and challenging day.
Finally, a mention to Harrison for being a big help during the game as he sat out due to injury.
